Hardware and Robotics
At MelodyVR, alongside technical art, I also lead camera R&D/prototyping for 360 VR camera rigs. The cameras were created by reverse engineering various cinema cameras available on the market and designing custom sensor arrangements, housing and supporting hardware in CAD, with final prototypes being 3D printed and CNC machined from aluminium.
I also enjoy building robots and other electronics projects in my spare time, some of which can be found on this page.

For a hobby, I like to build fighting robots. I’ve competed in a 6 week contest in China, filming “This is Fighting Robots” for the Chinese streaming channel Youku. The show was sponsored by Samsung and had 200 million views per episode. We placed 6th out of 55 international teams with our 110kg robot Sandstorm. I’ve also built many other smaller robots of varying sizes.
